DEXTER – Senior center Mallory Ames scored a school-record 44 points in three quarters of action Wednesday night to power Dexter to a 69-39 girls basketball victory over Searsport.

Ames bested her sister Ashley’s mark of 43 points set in 2005. She is also one point away from 1,000 career points.

Katie Poirier added 12 points for the Tigers.

Shannon Vasiliauskas led Searsport with nine points.
