Belanger paces Hornets past Bears

ASHLAND – Curtis Belanger tossed in 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to power the Ashland boys basketball team to an 84-73 victory over Easton Thursday night.

The Hornets’ Jeremy Tarr added 20 points, including six free throws in the fourth quarter. Jason Levesque had 11 rebounds while Kevin and Isaac Ward each contributed 10 points.

Brad Trask scored a game-high 25 points for Easton. Jeremy Brock chipped in with 21 and Nate Sanders added 10.

At Hodgdon, Jordan Guy scored eight of his game-high 24 points in overtime, including a 6-for-6 performance from the foul line, as Hodgdon triumphed.

Three of Hodgdon’s four wins have been in either overtime or double overtime.

Guy also grabbed 12 rebounds while Travis Bartley contributed 10 points.

Robbie Toothaker scored 15 points for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook, including 12 in the second half as Southern Aroostook rallied from a six-point halftime deficit.

Tyler Robinson had 12 and Colby Clark added nine.
