GORHAM – Ashley Marble poured in 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power the University of Southern Maine women’s basketball team to an 88-57 victory over Salem State Thursday.

Nicole Paradis chipped in with 14 points as the Huskies picked up their 12th win and Stacey Kent added 11. Lindsey Welch handed out six assists.

Danielle Jenkins paced Salem State with 16 points.

At Biddeford, Robin Morrow tossed in 18 points, including 14-for-14 from the free throw line as Framingham State held off the University of New England for the win.

Christina Bordini scored 15 points and Toya Chester added 13 for the winners.

Alli Gamache and Sara Pelkey netted 10 points apiece for the Nor’Easters.

SMCC 101, Briarcliffe College 80

At South Portland, Chris Banks scored 24 points in the first half to lead Southern Maine Community College over Briarcliffe College.

Banks finished with 36 points and Mike Worster added 15 for the 12-4 Seawolves.

John Lopes netted 21 points for 6-10 Briarcliffe.
