Currier, a 2006 Caribou High graduate who competes for the Maine Winter Sports Center, finished 28.6 seconds behind winner Claudio Mussner of Italy. Currier had three shooting penalties, two in prone and one in standing.

He was 15th in Saturday’s junior men’s 15K individual race. Currier had 10 penalties in four shooting stages and finished 8:27.6 behind winner Alexis Boeuf of France.

A four-time member of the U.S. junior national team, Currier will compete at the world junior championships in Martell, Italy, later this month.
