Thomas wins two

Thomas College picked up two wins in Massachusetts, beating Becker College 70-63 in overtime Friday night in Leicster, Mass., and topping Elms 57-37 Saturday at Chicopee.

In Friday’s game, Amy Miles hit back-to-back jumpers in overtime to help the Terriers pull away.

At Standish, Saint Joseph’s College split two over the weekend, falling 66-63 to Mitchell College on Saturday and defeating Green Mountain College 64-53 on Sunday.

Fort Kent wins two road games

UMaine-Fort Kent won two road games to open conference play with a 86-75 win over Vermont Technical Institute on Saturday at Randolph Center, Vt., and a 91-89 victory over Fischer College in Boston Sunday.

In Saturday’s game, Jimmy Lopez poured in 23 points and Yair Gao notched 18 points and five assists for UMFK. Hamill Bassue tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds and Gediminan Suyla added 14.

Clark Agnew tossed in 23 points for Vermont Tech.

In Sunday’s game, Gao hit the game-winning jump-shot with 10 seconds remaining to lift UMFK.

Providence 3, Lowell 2 (OT)

At Lowell, Mass., Colin McDonald scored the overtime game-winner as Providence beat UMass-Lowell 3-2 on Saturday night.

Tyler Sims made 27 saves for the Friars. Vinny Monaco turned away 35 shots in a losing effort for UMass.

Bryan Horan put Providence ahead 1-0 at 2:41 of the first period. Jason Bergeron tied the game for UMass early in the second. Greg Collins made it 2-1 for Providence midway through the second.

Jeremy Dehner tied it for UMass early in the third.
