Ponies knock off Wildcats

PRESQUE ISLE – Senior Leslie Martin scored from the lane off a turnover and a loose-ball scramble with 4.7 seconds left in overtime, lifting the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to an 73-72 girls basketball upset of Presque Isle Monday.

Foxcroft snapped the Wildcats’ 37-game home winning streak.

Martin and Vanessa Lougee tossed in 15 points each for Foxcroft Academy, which placed six players in double figures. Danielle Brown netted 11 points, while Aly Adkins, Becca Flanders and Tiffany Lougee contributed 10 points apiece.

Angela Norsworthy poured in a game-high 32 points for Presque Isle, which struggled from the foul line. Sarah Porter tossed in 18 points and Kayla Legassie added 12.
