BANGOR – WVOM (Clear Channel Radio Station) is now back at full power produced by its primary transmitter on Passadumkeag Mountain.

The station had switched to a backup system on Bald Mountain in Dedham while maintenance was under way along the power lines to the tower where the transmitter is located. While that change did not disrupt the reception in the communities the radio station is licensed to serve in Penobscot and Waldo Counties, it did cause problems for the fringe areas of Piscataquis County and the Machias area.

“Listeners in our fringe coverage areas north of Lincoln and in the Machias area can once again enjoy their favorite programming,” Larry Julius, WVOM’s market manager, wrote Sunday in an e-mail to the BDN.
