BANGOR – Tiffany Seams drove the length of the court and hit a layup as time expired in regulation to send the game to overtime where Central Maine Community College of Auburn prevailed, 57-52 over Eastern Maine Community College in women’s basketball action Wednesday.

Seams finished with a game-high 28 points while Jackie Moores added 13 for the winners.

Heather Groder paced EMCC with 22 points and Shannon Dobbins added 12.

Amanda Chandler scored 11 points and Sara Wells 11 for the Clippers.

At Fort Kent, Jimmy Lopez drove to the baseline and hit a floating jumper with 8.6 seconds left to give the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals the win over the University of Maine-Machias Wednesday.

Lopez led the Bengals, now 3-0 in Sunrise Conference play, with a game-high 29 points. Yair Gal added 11 points while Darius Parker of Danforth and Geduminas Sumyla each scored 10.

David Butler paced the Clippers (2-1 in conference) with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Adam Munro and Will Hammond each scored 15, David Douglas had 13, and Adam Pearce added 12.
