Hinton leads Hawks to win over Bucks

HERMON – Ben Hinton poured in a game-high 19 points as the Hermon boys basketball team cruised to its sixth consecutive victory with a 67-46 triumph over Bucksport Wednesday.

Derek Helms had 12 points and Kevin Tarr 10 for the Hawks. Zach Deabay made 11 assists, and Nick Robinson grabbed 11 rebounds.

Todd Freeman scored 16 for the Golden Bucks, and Miles Fisher added 12.

At Lee, Tom Bird scored 11 of his game-high 32 points in the third quarter as Lee Academy went on a 9-2 run to close out the quarter and then the Pandas pulled away in the fourth.

Bird also grabbed 10 rebounds while Peter Pickering contributed 16 points and six assists. Devan Parker added nine points and Jesus Torres eight.

Brett Gould posted 20 points for Katahdin of Stacyville while brothers Jared and Thomas Anderson had 14 apiece.
