Albert sparks Warriors past LCS/MSSM

FORT KENT – Marissa Albert scored 10 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead Fort Kent past Limestone Community School and Maine School of Science and Mathematics 58-43 in high school girls basketball action Thursday.

The Eagles had their eight-game winning streak snapped.

Taylor Boucher, Emily Pelletier, and Ashley Hafford scored 11 points apiece for the Warriors.

Julie Peers had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Eagles and Lauren Redmond scored 17 points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Brennan Shaw tallied two goals and an assist while Ben McPhereson notched two goals to lead Presque Isle past Foxcroft Academy.

Sean Flanagan and Greg Cyr each had one goal and three assists for the 6-4-1 Wildcats. Parker Hovey had a goal and assist, Mitch Sperrey a goal and Brandon Daigle three assists. Ethan Hill made 20 saves on 22 shots.

Dave White scored both goals for the 0-8-1 Ponies and Nick Lovejoy added an assist. Chad Phillips stopped 26 of 35 shots.

Boys basketball

DI-Stonington 70, GSA 45

At Blue Hill, Collin Ciomei scored 25 points to lift Deer Isle-Stonington over George Stevens Academy.

Bryant Ciomei scored 16 points for the Mariners and Shane Eaton added 11 points.

Elias Springer led the Eagles with 17 points and six assists.
