Dr. Ronald Blum of Patten has been appointed to serve as a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Commission on Health of the Public for a term beginning Dec. 15, 2006.
Family physicians offer comprehensive, continuing health care for all age groups and both sexes.
Blum practices family medicine and pediatrics in Patten where he also serves as medical director for Fraser Papers Inc. and Katahdin Paper Co., and Mount Heights HCF nursing home. He is also the regional public health medical officer for northern Maine.
In 2003 he was the Maine Family Physician of the Year.
