Correcting the record

A story in Friday’s paper about a drug bust in Eastbrook contained inaccurate information about the makeup of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Downeast Regional Task Force. The task force is composed of officers from law enforcement agencies in Hancock and Washington counties and is funded only partially through the Hancock County budget.

In a story in the Business section of Thursday’s paper, The Associated Press reported that Starbucks Corp. was dropping milk products containing an artificial growth hormone from some U.S. stores. The story should have included comment from the hormone’s manufacturer, Monsanto Co. of St. Louis. Monsanto says tests cannot distinguish chemical differences in milk from cows treated with bovine growth hormone.
