FARMINGTON – Kari Simpson of Wells scored 20 points to lead the University of Maine-Farmington women’s basketball team to a 55-54 overtime win over Castleton State Friday night.
Simpson’s layup with 15 seconds left in overtime off a feed from Augusta native Karen Sirois was the difference.
Freshman Caitlyn Laflin of Farmingdale scored 14 to pace the 10-3 Beavers.
Carley Amedore led Castleton with 17 and LeeAnne Ketchen added 10.
Wesleyan 60, Colby 43
At Middletown, Conn., Wesleyan took a 21-18 lead in the first half and then went on an 8-0 scoring run en route to its 11th victory.
Ali Fourney paced the winners with 16 points and Emilie Knight added 10.
