Ben Bishop

Ben Bishop, University of Maine sophomore goaltender, has been named the Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. Bishop posted his second shutout of the season on Saturday in a 2-0 win against Providence and allowed two goals all weekend and stopped 81 shots.

Kevin Reed

University of Maine senior Kevin Reed has been named the America East Co-Player of the Week. Reed led the Black Bears to wins over UMBC and Vermont and scored 18 points in both games.

Sean Fry

Junior Sean Fry of the University of Maine at Farmington has been named the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball co-Player of the Week. Fry was UM-Farmington’s leading scorer in a pair of wins.

Shelley Gott-Stilwell

Maine Maritime Academy senior Shelley Gott-Stilwell was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week. Gott-Stilwell had 14 points, including the game-winning three pointer at the buzzer to knock off No. 1 ranked Bowdoin, to go along with 14 rebounds. She also scored 13 points and added six rebounds in the Mariners win over Saint Joseph’s.

Caitlyn Laflin

University of Maine Farmington’s Caitlyn Laflin has been named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week. Laflin averaged 15.3 points and nine rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Beavers.

Nick Farrell

Senior guard Nick Farrell from Colby College has been named the NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Farrell averaged 25 points as he led Colby to its first two NESCAC wins over Wesleyan and Connecticut College.

Sarah Hale

University of Southern Maine freshman Sara Hale has been named the Little East Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. The sprinter finished second in the 55-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meters at the Tufts Invitational. Hale helped Southern Maine to a third place team finish out of 16 schools.

Katie Diggins

University of New England’s Katie Diggins has been named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Rookie of the Week. Diggins averaged 15.3 points and 5.7 rebounds over three games.

Nicole Corbin

Senior Nicole Corbin of the University of Maine Fort Kent has been named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week. Corbin averaged 24.5 points in a pair of weekend games for the Bengals.
