WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Michaud was elected chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Health on Tuesday.

Michaud, who has served as a ranking member in the prior two legislative sessions, will have investigative jurisdiction over veterans hospitals, medical care and treatment of veterans.

In his term, Michaud intends to pursue a legislative agenda that will include examining transition issues for service personnel, mental health care, homelessness among veterans and problems facing veterans in rural areas.
