Basic training

SAN ANTONIO – Air Force Airman Daniel Larry graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. Larry, a 2006 graduate of George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, is the son of Linda Henderson and stepson of Kevin Gray of Orland.

FORT KNOX, Ky. – Army Pvt. Christopher Cote graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox. He is the son of Juliana Butler of Santee, Calif., and grandson of Arthor and Gloria Cote of Bangor.

Stateside

Army Reserve Sgt. Adam T. Cambridge has returned to the United States after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cambridge is a counter-intelligence agent normally assigned to the 203rd Military Intelligence Battalion, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Cambridge, a 2001 graduate of Old Town High School, is the son of Kathy M. Ouellette of Old Town, and Thomas F. Cambridge of Glenburn.

Joint Munitions Command

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Jyuji D. Hewitt, a 1978 University of Maine alumnus, is the new executive director of ammunition for the Joint Munitions Command on Rock Island Arsenal, Ill. He serves as deputy to the commander and is senior civilian in JMC. He retired from active military service Jan. 7.

Hewitt’s focus includes the Munitions and Logistics Readiness Center on Rock Island Arsenal; the Defense Ammunition Center at McAlester, Okla.; and JMC’s 19 ammunition production plants.
