ASHLAND – Ben Doucette hit a game-tying 3-pointer as time expired to force overtime and had seven points in the extra session as Van Buren rallied for a 89-83 Class D boys basketball win over Ashland Wednesday night.

Doucette’s tying 3-pointer came after a lane violation negated a free throw that would have given Ashland a four-point lead with six seconds left.

Doucette finished with 41 points. Riley Lizotte tossed in 24 and Alex Martin had 16 more.

Curtis Belanger had a game-high 42 points for Ashland and he also pulled down 11 rebounds. Jeremy Tarr had 18 points.
