ORONO – The Maine Arts Commission will hold an afternoon of workshops beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, with an introduction at Buchanan Alumni House at the University of Maine. The workshops are free, open to all and don’t require preregistration.

The workshop topics will look to answer questions about grant writing, working with the press, art or art education and others. This is part of the Maine Arts Commission’s artME tour and is building off of its successful campaigns in the past two years.

The Maine Arts Commission recently accepted the 2006 National Accessibility Leadership Award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Other artME workshops are scheduled in the following places:

. University of Maine at Machias, Torrey Hall, on April 11.

. University of Maine at Fort Kent on May 2.

. Stearns High School in Millinocket, May 3.

. Skowhegan Community Center, May 23.
