ORONO – Leslie Hurlburt scored a short-handed goal off of a Britney Chandler assist with just 38 seconds left in overtime to lead the University of Connecticut past the University of Maine 2-1 in women’s hockey action at Alfond Arena Saturday. UConn defeated Maine 3-1 on Sunday.

On Saturday, Michelle Binning scored with 6:31 left in the second period to put UConn up 1-0. Brittany Wilson stopped 19 of 20 shots.

Sonia Corriveau tied it at 16:29 in the third period for the Black Bears. Genevieve Turgeon made 21 saves on 23 shots.

On Sunday, Jaclyn Hawkins scored twice for the 16-10-2 Huskies and Amy Hollstein added a goal and an assist. Wilson saved 22 of 23 shots.

Kate Sunstrum scored for the 7-17-2 Black Bears at 7:24 in the second period on assists from Kelly Law and Elyce Thomas. Turgeon made 28 saves on 31 shots.
