Robinson stars as Katahdin squeaks past FF Tigers

FORT FAIRFIELD – Ronni Robinson netted 15 points to lead the Katahdin Cougars of Stacyville past Fort Fairfield 50-49 in girls basketball action Saturday.

Kayla Stevens added 12 points for the Cougars.

Heather Hathaway tossed up 10 points to pace Fort Fairfield.

At Alfond Arena, Orono, Sean Babin had a hat trick with three goals to lead Orono to victory over Presque Isle on Senior Night.

Dan Ohno and Mark Cloutier scored for the 13-2-1 Red Riots. Tony Raymond provided three assists and Ben Perry, Nathan Curtis and Chris McConnon each had an assist. Jared Bussell and David Eugley combined to stop 23 of 25 shots.

Brandon Daigle scored both goals for the 9-5-1 Wildcats. Spencer Deschene had two assists while Greg Cyr and Ben McPherson both provided an assist. Ethan Hill made 18 saves on 23 shots.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Joel Enrico’s unassisted goal from the point 8:14 into the third period gave the Dragons the winning edge.

Kit Smith scored the first goal for 13-3 Brunswick off an assist from Blaine Cardali 2:54 into the first period. Brian Billett made 21 saves.

Alex Moores scored an unassisted goal for 8-6-1 Bangor 53 seconds into the third period. Andrew Riley made 18 saves.

At Sawyer Arena, Bangor, Connor Scofield scored two goals and assisted on three others to lift John Bapst over Gardiner.

John Cooper had two goals and an assist for the 11-5 Crusaders. Casey Hull had a goal and four assists and senior Juliana Alex added a goal. Chase Huckestein, Matt Duplisea, and Tyler Smith scored. Chris Dunbar provided two assists as Nate Kuneman stopped 13 of 14 shots.

Nate Powers scored a third-period goal off of a Garett Richardson assist for 7-6 Gardiner. Jimmy Quirion made 23 saves on 32 shots.
