ST. ALBANS – State police say an elderly Hartland woman died Sunday night of injuries she suffered Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle, head-on collision.
Trooper Bernard Brunette said 82-year-old Phyllis Hubbard drove out of the parking lot of the Sunrise Cafe on Hartland Road and into the path of a pickup truck.
Hubbard was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she died. The driver of the pickup, 22-year-old Gretchen Elliott of Pittsfield, was treated and then released from the Pittsfield hospital.
