Lavertu, Howlers hold off BC

HOWLAND – Kelsy Lavertu scored six of her 12 points in the fourth quarter as Penobscot Valley pulled away from Bangor Christian for a 48-44 schoolgirl basketball victory Monday night.

Lavertu grabbed 20 rebounds for the Howlers, who received 13 points from Casey McCluskey.

Morgan Chasse led the Patriots with 18 points.

Erica Lyford tossed in a game-high 24 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for Penquis.
