BOSTON – Boston College named former UMaine football players Jeff Comissiong and Ben Sirmans as assistant football coaches under new head coach Jeff Jagodzinski on Tuesday.

Comissiong will coach the defensive line, a job he held last season at Harvard. In the previous eight years, he was an assistant coach at Maine, the last four handling the defensive line.

Sirmans, a 1993 Maine graduate and halfback on the football team, will handle the running backs. Last season, he coached running backs and special teams at Michigan State, where he was an assistant the past two years. He had spent the previous five seasons as running backs coach at Kent State.

Jagodzinski, the offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers last season, was named head coach on Dec. 19.
