ROCKLAND – A local man was arrested on drug charges after a police search of his Union Street apartment on Monday.

Craig Knowlton, 21, of Rockland was charged with aggravated trafficking in marijuana and possession of hydrocodone after the 4:50 p.m. search of his apartment.

Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower said the department’s detective bureau obtained the search warrant after obtaining evidence of Knowlton’s alleged drug activity. When detectives James Pease, Christopher Young and Russell Thompson searched Apartment 6 at 100 Union St. they seized a quantity of marijuana, hydrocodone, two guns and a 1993 Toyota pickup truck. The case remains under investigation, Tower said.

“This investigation is ongoing and the release of too much information could compromise that investigation,” he said.
