Gorham standout Kelsey Wilson has been named Gatorade Maine Girls Soccer Player of the Year and is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year, which will be announced in May.

The 5-foot-4 senior midfielder and two-year captain led the Rams to a 17-0-1 record and third straight state championship, as well as the No. 1 ranking in New England. She scored 30 goals this season and finished with 85 for her career. Wilson will attend the University of Maine on a soccer scholarship this fall.

The Portland Press Herald and the Maine Soccer Coaches Player of the Year in both 2005 and 2006, Wilson is also a 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American.

Wilson joins Dana Riker (2005-06, Cape Elizabeth), Shelby Pickering (’04-05, Lee Academy) and Erica Stupinski (’03-04, Mount Ararat) on the list of Gatorade Players of the Year.
