Ashley Underwood

University of Maine senior guard Ashley Underwood has been named the America East Player of the Week. Underwood averaged 24.5 points in a pair of wins for the Black Bears last week. She scored a career-high 30 points, including 14-14 from the free-throw line against Albany and had a game-high 19 points and five rebounds in the win over Binghamton.

Dave Wilson

University of Maine goaltender Dave Wilson has been named the Hockey East Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week. Wilson had his first career starts last weekend against Vermont and picked up two wins for the Black Bears. Wilson picked up his first-career shutout Saturday night with 31 saves and stopped 33 shots and gave up one goal in Maine’s 5-1 win Friday.

Drew Cohen

Drew Cohen, a senior center at Colby College, has been named the NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Cohen averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5.5 blocks and four assists as he led the Mules in a pair of road victories last weekend. Cohen had 23 points in a 63-62 win over Bates on Friday and a game-high 25 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks against Tufts Saturday.

Tim McVaugh

Bowdoin senior Tim McVaugh was named the NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week. McVaugh helped the Polar Bears claim first place in the conference standings heading into the final weekend of the regular season with three goals and two assists in wins over Trinity and Wesleyan.

Amanda Comeau

Colby College sophomore Amanda Comeau has been named the NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey co-Player of the Week. Comeau tallied five goals and an assist during a 2-1 week for the Mules.

Josh Tanguay

UMaine-Farmington’s Josh Tanguay was named NAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. He averaged 8 points and 9.5 rebounds in two conference wins for the Beavers.

Caitlyn Laflin

Caitlyn Laflin of UMaine-Farmington was named NAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. She averaged 15 points and five rebounds over two games, including a win over Maine Maritime Academy.

Ashley Marble

The USM forward was named MWBCA Player of the Week, as well as Little East Player of the Week. She scored 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a win over Plymouth State then notched 28 points and 15 boards against Rhode Island College.

Alison Cappelloni, Katie Diggins

Colby College’s Cappelloni and Diggins of University of New England shared the MWBCA’s Rookie of the Week honor. Diggins averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds in leading UNE to three wins while Cappelloni averaged 16 points and six boards in three games for Colby. Diggins also earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week honors.

Jimmy Lopez

UMaine-Fort Kent guard Jimmy Lopez has been named the Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Week. Lopez scored 20 points in the Bengal’s 86-75 win over Paul Smith’s.

Chris Hopkins

University of Southern Maine senior Chris Hopkins was named the Little East Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Hopkins won the mile and 800-meters, and anchored the Huskies’ winning 4×800-meter relay at the New England Alliance/Little East Conference Chapionships.

Emily Artesani

University of Southern Maine first-year sprinter Emily Artesani has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Artesani won the 200-meters and 400-meters, and placed third in the 55-meter dash.

Melissa Bellemore

Senior Melissa Bellemore of the University of Southern Maine was named the Little East Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. At the Little East Conference Championships, Bellemore won the pole vault for the fourth-straight year, the long jump and the 55-meter hurdles.
