Married jewelers craft special piece for Valentine’s Day

Does your Valentine rock your world? Show her with this stone heart necklace from Seaglass Infusion in Ellsworth. Husband and wife jewelers Randy and Heather Ingraham run the shop, which has a soothing seaside vibe. Their specialty is silver pieces that incorporate luminous sea glass and smooth beach stones. Some pendants take the shape of hearts, others have a more organic form, and all of them come out of the ocean looking that way – no shaping allowed. “We collect everything on the beaches near our home [in Hancock],” Heather, 33, said. The hearts, which cost $14.95, are wrapped in sterling silver wire and strung from a simple leather cord. “For Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to do something natural, simple and kind of elegant,” Heather said. It’s a fitting token of affection for the couple, who started making jewelry together as a hobby, and opened their shop in July. Though Heather kept her day job as a massage therapist, their goal is to make Seaglass Infusion into a full-time endeavor.”We prefer to work together,” Randy said. “We’d like to work together more.” If their love for each other is obvious, so, too, is their love for the sea. It’s even more of a treat for Heather, a Presque Isle native. “To be by the ocean is like a godsend,” she said.
