HOLDEN – A Brewer woman was brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center with a sliced ear after her car spun out of control and hit a telephone pole.

Carrie Kemp, 22, of Brewer was driving north on Eastern Avenue with her 6-year-old son when she lost control of her 2005 Mitsubishi. The boy was uninjured.

The driver’s side window shattered and Kemp’s head hit the telephone pole, slicing her ear.

Kemp was driving too fast for the road conditions, according to Sgt. Gene Fizell of the Holden Police Department.
