Fitzpatrick, McLaughlin power Witches

BREWER – Dylan Fitzpatrick netted four goals and Reid McLaughlin notched a goal and two assists as Brewer thumped Winslow 9-3 in high school hockey action at T.J. Ryan Arena Friday.

John Ambrose and Mike Kotredes each tallied a goal and an assist, and Davis Perry and Tyler Coombs scored a goal apiece. Nick Risser recorded three assists and Ryan Nadeau added two for the 16-3 Witches. Aaron Saunders stopped 27 of 30 shots.

Jeff Browne, Kevin McCabe and Mitch Maroon each scored a goal for the 14-5 Black Raiders. Hayden Fuller and Ryan Cormier combined to make 21 saves on 30 shots.

At Mars Hill, No. 3 Central Aroostook outscored No. 14 Machias 30-7 in the second quarter en route to the win.

Tim Carlson tossed in 21 points and Silas Kelley added 11. Cameron York recorded 10 for the Panthers, who will take on No. 6 Calvary Chapel at 9:35 a.m. Monday

Michael Little led the Bulldogs with 25 points.

Danny Hayes added 17 points and Matt Enman scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter. The Eagles will take on No. 4 Lee Academy at 7:05 p.m. on Monday.
