Bangor drug bust nets 3 pounds of marijuana

Police seized more than 3 pounds of marijuana from a house in Bangor early Saturday morning.

Lt. Jeff Millard and the Special Response Team of the Bangor Police Department were acting on a search warrant when they entered Apt. 2 at 18 Willow St.

Five people were in the house at the time. One was allowed to leave because she did not live in the house.

Police said they found a pink duffel bag in the closet filled with three gallon-size plastic bags full of marijuana. A hanging scale and other drug paraphernalia reportedly were scattered around one of the bedrooms.

William Sjostrom, 25, who had been staying in the house, was arrested and charged with violation of release conditions and aggravated trafficking in marijuana.Jessica McAlpine, 26, was also arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking of marijuana.

Jared Peachey, 27, lived at the house and said he bought marijuana from Sjostrom. He was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking of marijuana.

The other resident of the house, Brittni Austin, 24, was also charged with unlawful trafficking, but she was summoned rather than arrested because she has no adult criminal record.

All four are scheduled to appear in District Court at 8:30 a.m. April 13.
