KEENE, N.H. – Bri Barnes scored a game-high 23 points to lead Keene State college to its ninth straight win, a 62-50 decision over the University of Southern Maine women Saturday afternoon.
The victory snapped an 18-game win streak for fourth-ranked USM, which dropped its first Little East Conference game since 2001.
The USM Huskies, now 22-2 overall and 13-1 in the LEC, had won 75 straight against LEC opponents.
Lindsey Welch of Newport led the Huskies with 13 points and five rebounds. Senior forward Ashley Marble of Topsfield had her 45th career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
