Muzzy doubles up to lead Eagles Husson torpedoes Maine Maritime

CASTINE – Tyler Muzzy of Greenville led the way for the Husson College men, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help the Eagles defeat Maine Maritime Academy 73-51 on Saturday.

Jason Harvey had 10 points and six assists, Scot Kissinger added 12 points, Fabian Figueroa had 11 points, and Martin Cleveland added 10 points.

The Mariners were led by Derek DiFrederico, who had a game-high 17 points.

At the Bennett Center in Wenham, Mass, Michael Herr scored 15 points to help Gordon defeat the University of New England on Saturday.

Brady Bajema scored 14 opints for Gordon, and Tim DeLuca added 12.

Nick Farynaz and John Marriott each scored 10 points for UNE, and Isaac Stickney had 14 rebounds.

Mike Worster added 12 points and Travis Tatro had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Scott Slack received the Tournament Defense award.

Harold Reynoso scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Hesser.

At Middlebury, Vt., Saturday, Drew Cohen had another double-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots while leading fifth-seeded Colby past No. 4 Middlebury in the New England Small College Athletic Conference quarterfinals.

A 21-7 run helped Colby tie the game with 5:15 left in regulation. Middlebury missed a jumper with 13 seconds left and Colby’s Nick Farrell missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, where the White Mules hit 11 of 12 from the line to pull away.

Farrell scored 22 points, Mac Simpson added 14, and Adam Choice scored 12 for Colby.

Andrew Harris led Middlebury with 21 points, Tim Edwards had 18, and Ben Rudin added 16.
