NEWPORT – A 26-hour water main break was fixed Wednesday, but about 25 customers have been told to boil water until tests are completed.
Newport Water District Superintendent Thomas Todd said the order affects customers on Main Street, between Mill and Spring streets. He said he expects test results by Friday.
The main was reported broken about 2 a.m. Tuesday and was repaired by 4 a.m. Wednesday. Several hundred thousand gallons of water were spilled.
