BREWER – U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced that Meghan S. Simonds of Brewer has been awarded an internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Simonds recently completed an internship in Collins’ Bangor office.
“Congressional internships are extremely beneficial in providing students with the opportunity to gain professional experience and knowledge of the legislative process,” said Collins. “As always, I am happy to provide young Mainers the chance to serve their communities. Meghan is a welcome addition to my team in Washington.”
Simonds is a 2004 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School and is a junior at the University of Maine. She is majoring in political science and plays an active role in both the political science department and the University of Maine Honors College.
Simonds is the daughter of Jim Simonds of Hudson and Pam Norton of Brewer.
