Yarmouth boys and girls ski teams were crowned Class B state champions on Wednesday after the finish of the boys 5K at Black Mountain in Rumford.

Cape Elizabeth’s Graham Egan took first in the classical 5K with a time of 14 minutes, 26.5 seconds, while second place went to Joey Bard of Caribou at 14:46.3. Corey Park of Presque Isle finished fourth in 14:59.4 and Caribou’s Phil Willey rounded out the top 10, finishing at 15:37.5.

For the boys, Caribou and Presque Isle finished seventh and eighth out of 11 teams, respectively.

The Wildcats’ Lucas Mathers came in fourth place in the skimeister competition, and teammate Layne Waddell took fifth. Jordan Powers from Caribou finished sixth and Joel Whitaker of Presque Isle was ninth. Caribou’s Taylor Jepson finished 11th and Nick Shaw, Kurtis Perkins, and Tom Barnes, all of Presque Isle, rounded out the top 14.

In the girls meet, Presque Isle placed seventh and was led by Kristina McKenney’s fifth-place finish in the skimeister competition. The Wildcats’ Amber Griffin, Hallie Bartlett and Molly Hamel wound up sixth, seventh, and eighth, and Anne Elish took 10th place.
