BOSTON – Lauren Forgues of Boothbay and Farmington native Kevin Eastler both earned silver medals in racewalking events during the USATF National Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center over the weekend.

Forgues, a UMaine freshman, finished the 3,000-meter racewalk in 13 minutes, 51.90 seconds, just four seconds behind winner Samantha Cohen of Wisconsin. Forgues’ best time in the 3K had been 14:32.

Eastler, a captain in the U.S. Air Force, clocked a 19:28.63 in the 5,000-meter racewalk, just four seconds behind Tim Seaman, a two-time Olympian. Eastler’s time was nearly a 20-second improvement from his best 5K finish.

Eastler and Forgues will be competing in the Pan American Cup trials in March in Miami.
