Lubec bridge repairs to delay travel on span

LUBEC – Repairs to begin in mid-March to the F.D.R. Memorial Bridge will limit traffic to Campobello Island, Canada, this spring. Alternating one-way traffic and wide load prohibitions should be expected.

The Maine Department of Transportation will be repairing deteriorating sections of the concrete bridge deck.

Also, when the repairs are completed sometime in mid-June, the DOT will be laying rubberized asphalt containing stone chips for the bridge’s road surface.

Travelers are asked to allow extra time when crossing the bridge during the project.
