Air National Guard Airman Melinda R. Caldwell has graduated, with honors, from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Caldwell studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies. She performed drill and ceremony marches, physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

Caldwell is the daughter of Daniel Caldwell of Madison and Helen Peavey of Anson.

She is a 1999 graduate of Carrabec High School.
