BELFAST – The 5th Annual Festival of Art featuring the work of amateur and professional artists over the age of 50 will be at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center May 17-19.
Last year’s festival exhibited the works of 139 artists from 58 Maine towns, according to event chairwoman Dorothy Alling.
Only one piece of original artwork per exhibitor will be accepted. There is no entry fee for the artists, and admission is free to the public. Artists wishing to exhibit must register by March 30. Because of space limitations, only 130 artworks will be accepted.
On Friday and Saturday a number of guest artists also will be demonstrating and discussing their work. Before the art festival, several artists will be displaying their works in the windows of The Belfast Framer on Main Street.
Entry forms can be obtained by emailing rainysart@gwi.net. Forms also may be requested by mail or telephone. Requests by mail should be sent to Rainy Brooks, 10 Porter St., Searsport 04974. To register by phone, call Brooks at 548-2502.
