CARRABASSETT VALLEY – After consistently strong race finishes in seven qualifying FIS races, four Carrabassett Valley Academy athletes have qualified for the Junior Nationals.

Makayla Brown of Naples, Katie Houser of Marblehead, Mass., Kristin Waddle of Carrabassett Valley and Dominque Cyr of Van Buren will compete in the Alpine Junior Nationals (ages 15-16) at Mt. Bachelor, Ore., today through Monday.

Carrabassett Valley Academy Alpine coach Yoshi Watanabe will travel with the group and has been selected to represent the eastern coaching staff.

“This is a great opportunity for Dom, Makayla, Katie and Kristin to compete against the top racers in the country in downhill, super G, giant slalom and slalom,” said Doug Williams, CVA Alpine program manager.
