ORONO – Author, playwright, lecturer in the University of Maine English Department and former Orono High School teacher Sanford Phippen will present a talk about his books and his writing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the vestry at the Church of Universal Fellowship, 82 Main St.

The event is sponsored by the Penobscot Branch of the American Association of University Women and Friends of the Orono Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Phippen is the author of “Kitchen Boy” and several collections of short stories and essays.
