KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Freshman Jessica Ghazali picked up two wins as the UMaine softball team registered a sweep at the Rebel Spring Games Wednesday, beating Saint Peter’s 6-3 and Penn 6-3. The Black Bears moved to 10-5, including a final 7-3 record in the tournament.
In the first game, Ghazali earned a win in relief, coming in during a 3-3 tied game in the sixth and tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Maine’s Kristie Hawkins recorded two hits and drove in two runs while Tara Vilardo had two hits and a stolen base.
In the second game, the Black Bears rallied for four runs in the seventh thanks to RBI doubles by Jennifer Puccini and Erin Iandoli. Ghazali again came on in relief, allowing one run in three innings. Alexis Souhlaris hit two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases.
Husson drops two
At Kissimmee, Fla., Molly Sersing had two doubles, a single and an RBI for Baldwin-Wallace College as it defeated Husson 5-3 in the first game of a doubleheader at the Rebel Spring Games.
Husson lost to Misericordia College 11-4 in the second game.
In the first game, Shawna Bell hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run for the Eagles while Brittni Adams had two singles.
In the second game, Jenny Rollins and Jordan Pruett each singled twice for Husson.

At Tampa, Fla., Chris Batsford hit two doubles and drove in three runs to lead St. John Fisher College of Rochester, N..Y., past Husson College of Bangor.
Chad King added a double, two singles and an RBI for the Cardinals.
Adam Sheehan, Dennis Graham and Bryan Biggers each had two singles for Husson.
