LEWISTON – Tyler Fleurent scored two of Biddeford’s three goals in the second period as the Tigers earned their first Class A state hockey title Saturday night with a 4-2 victory over the Lewiston Blue Devils at the Colisee.

Biddeford goalie Tony Dube made 39 saves on 41 shots to aid the title quest.

Fleurent tied the game 17 seconds into the second period off a pass from Jeremy Grebin and scored again 10:21 in on a power-play goal. Thirteen seconds later, Grebin converted assists from Cameron Madore and Fleurent to give Biddeford (21-3) a 3-1 lead.

Shawn Grover added a Tiger goal in the third.

Ian Doucette scored for the 13-10-1 Blue Devils in the first period and Justin Nadeau had a third-period goal. Matt Letourneau had two assists.

Lewiston’s Dylan Labonte stopped 24 of 28 shots.

There were 15 power plays in the game.
