Bangor police arrested a Kenduskeag man late Saturday in the Diva’s Gentlemen’s Club parking lot after he yelled at officers who pulled over the vehicle in which he was a passenger.

Police stopped the vehicle around 11:45 p.m. after the driver made an illegal turn from State Street onto Exchange Street. The driver stopped in the Diva’s parking lot on French Street.

As two officers approached the car, Christopher Lugdon, 40, screamed insults like “Bangor pig” and hurled expletives, according to police reports.

The driver and two other passengers apologized for Lugdon’s actions and said he was intoxicated. They tried to calm him down, but he became more hostile, reports stated.

The officers warned Lugdon to quiet down or he would be arrested for disorderly conduct, but as they left, Lugdon jumped out and walked toward their vehicle.

The officers put Lugdon in handcuffs, took him to Penobscot County Jail and charged him with disorderly conduct. In the police cruiser, reports state that Lugdon threatened the officers, saying he would “get even” as he made a slicing motion across his throat with his thumb.

Police in Bangor arrested a man they called an “habitual driving offender” after stopping him Saturday morning. Intoxilyzer tests revealed the Burlington man had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, according to a police report, more than twice the legal limit.

An officer stopped Alton Whitney, 26, around 2:40 a.m. on Broadway after the officer noticed him driving erratically.

Whitney dropped his wallet as he tried to get it out of his pocket and then dropped his license. He failed a field sobriety test, according the report.

Officers found a pill in the glove box, for which Whitney admitted he didn’t have a prescription.

Whitney was arrested, taken to Penobscot County Jail and charged with operating under the influence and possession of a Schedule Y drug, both Class D crimes. He also was charged with operating after revocation of license for habitual offenses, a Class C crime.

An Eastern Maine Medical Center employee reported his vehicle was stolen from the Wing Parking Lot between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Saturday.

The owner left the blue 1995 Saturn SL1 four-door sedan unlocked with the keys in the ignition while he went into the hospital to work. Hospital security said the car had not been towed, according to the police report.

The Saturn has a butterfly and EMMC decal on the back window.
