Edward Little High School freshman Christie Bernier took gold in the one-mile racewalk Saturday with a time of 7 minutes, 58.93 seconds at the Nike Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Landover, Md.

Boothbay High School freshman Matthew Forgues finished fourth in the boys race with a time of 7:18.03 and Lisbon High sophomore Tyler Campbell was fifth (7:18.49). All three earned All-America awards for Maine.

Taylor Burns of Scarborough High School finished eighth with a time of 7:36.62.

On Sunday at the National Scholastic Track and Field Championships in New York City, Bernier finished eighth in the one-mile racewalk. Campbell finished third to earn his second All-America honor. Burns finished fifth with a personal-best time of 7:20.35.

Mt. Blue High School graduate Sarah Peak earned All-America honors at the SunTrust NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships at Johnson City, Tenn. The freshman at Cedarville University in Ohio finished fifth in the 3,000-meter racewalk finals with a time of 17:31.75.
