BANGOR – Liam Harrigan scored a game high of 20 points to lead Vafiades Brountas & Kominsky to a 34-23 win over Greenway Equipment at the Bangor Y on Hammond Street to claim the 2006-07 Bangor Y Atomic League championship.

VB&K opened with a 10-2 lead in the first quarter, and it looked as though they would put Greenway away early. Greenway, however, turned things around and outscored VB&K 16-10 over the next two periods and pulled to within two points at 20-18 after three periods.

In the fourth quarter, an 8-0 run by VB&K put them on top by 10 points at 28-18 with 3:07 left in the game. They never looked back as Harrigan sparked VB&K to the win with 12 points in the quarter. VB&K outscored Greenway 14-5 in the final period.

Harrigan had 20 points and Steve Glassbrenner added eight points to lead VB&K.

Greenway was led in scoring by Karl Gurschick with seven points, and Jake Morrill and Keith Gurschick with six points each.
