University of Southern Maine senior forward Ashley Marble has been named the Women’s DIII News Player of the Year for women’s basketball.

Marble, who was recently named D3hoops.com National Player of the Year and is a Kodak/WBCA All-American, led the Huskies to a 27-3 overall record and 13-1 in the Little East Conference. She had 22 double-doubles while averaging 23.1 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.

Senior Eileen Flaherty of Bowdoin College and Marble were also named to DIII News’ All-Americans first team.

Two Colby College hockey players have also earned honors as junior defenseman Arthur Fritch and senior forward Greg Osborne have been named to the American Hockey Coaches Association National Division III All-America team.

Fritch and Osborne became the third pair of Colby players to earn All-America honors in the same year. Fritch was named to the first team as he compiled 12 goals and 25 assists. Osborne was named to the second team as led NESCAC in scoring with 21 goals and 20 assists.
