PRESQUE ISLE – Brent M. Boyles will become the next president and CEO of Maine & Maritimes Corp., effective May 8, the board of directors announced.

Boyles will assume the new posts while continuing as president and CEO of Maine Public Service Co., a regulated electric distribution and transmission subsidiary of MAM that serves about 35,000 electricity customers in northern Maine.

Boyles has nearly 23 years of experience in the regulated electric utility industry.

A native of Mapleton, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., a graduate degree in management, and a master of strategic studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.

Boyles and his wife, Duska, reside in Mapleton and have three children: son Bradlee and daughters Morgan and Melissa.
