New talent show coming to Brewer

BREWER – Do you or someone you know have talent? Is someone continually telling you how funny you are? Can you sing, dance, play an instrument or have some other type of talent?

Would winning up to $1,000 in a cash prize interest you?

If you said yes to any of these questions, members of the Kiwanis Club of Brewer would like you to audition for their first-ever So You Think You Have Talent Show.

The event is inspired by your favorite television shows, and modified to include all age groups and types of talent from comedy to juggling, singing and dancing. Selected participants will have the chance to win several $500 cash prizes or a grand prize of $1,000.

Auditions and the talent show will take place at the Brewer High School gymnasium.

Auditions will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, April 22, and April 29, if needed.

There will be a dress rehearsal for finalists on Friday, May 18, and the talent show will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

Those interested in auditioning should send a $5 application fee by April 15 to: Brewer Kiwanis, P.O. Box 538, Brewer, ME 04412. Include name, address, telephone number, age, birth date, gender and description of talent. Those under 18 must include adult contact information of name, relationship and address.

No applications will be available at the time of auditions.

For information, contact Kiwanis President Kathleen Harding-Heber at 825-4477. Proceeds benefit local children’s charities and programs.

Contestants must bring their own music, instrument, etc. to audition.
