In his talk with President Calderon of Mexico the other day, President Bush pledged to step up the fight against illegal drugs.

If he is serious about this, maybe Mr. Bush could start by pardoning those two border patrol agents who were thrown in prison for shooting at, and wounding an illegal alien drug smuggler with 700 pounds of drugs he was trying to cross the American border with. The drug smuggler, by the way, was the star witness in the 2 border agents trial.

The two agents received 11 and 13 years in prison, while the drug smuggler was free to go, only to attempt to smuggle more drugs into this country a week later. Despite scores of rather irate U.S. Congressmen, republican and democrat, imploring President Bush to pardon these two agents, as of this date, he has not lifted a finger to help them.
